Josephine Nola - Art you can wear, rooted in beauty, made to inspire.
Welcome to Josephine NOLA
I'm Kia, the founder of Josephine NOLA, a Black woman-owned brand celebrating Black art, beauty, and culture through elevated clothing, accessories, and home goods.
After years working as an attorney with the Innocence Project, I wanted to create something that celebrated another part of the Black experience: our beauty, creativity, style, and joy.
The inspiration came from the iconic Creole Woman with Red Headdress. Captivated by both the beauty of the portrait and the history of the Tignon Laws in colonial Louisiana, I saw an opportunity to bring historic Black art into everyday life.
Today, Josephine NOLA transforms fine art and classic Black portraiture from the 1800s and early 1900s into thoughtfully designed pieces that celebrate our history with sophistication and artistic flair.
We believe Black cultural expression belongs everywhere—from gallery walls to your favorite brunch outfit, from the tote you carry to the pieces you bring into your home.
Thank you for supporting our small business and being part of this celebration.
Vintage. Artistic. Iconic.
Art you can wear, rooted in beauty, made to inspire. 🖤
